Take the first part plainly: yes, the division of the sexes came after the fall and by reason of it. Adam was a man and also a woman, and yet neither distinct, but a Virgin full of chastity, modesty and purity, the image of God; he had both the Tinctures, of the fire and of the light, in him, and in their conjunction stood the Virgineal Centre, the fair Paradisical rose-garden of delight, wherein he loved himself.1
If God had willed the bestial copulation, He would have created man and woman at the first, in the Verbum Fiat, as He did with the other earthly creatures.2 He did not. The man was to bring forth his like out of himself in a Paradisical manner. But the lust-spirit in Adam overcame, the three Principles raised their strife in him, his Tincture was wearied, and the Virgin departed; he sank into sleep, and his heavenly body became flesh and blood.3
Then, since Adam was fallen home to the Fiat as a half-broken person and could no longer generate the Virgin out of himself, God must help him, and put the Fiat of the great world into the midst, and so there came a woman, as the beasts have a female for propagation.3 The angelical kingdom in him was gone; therefore there must now be a kingdom of this world.3
Mark what follows: this is no condemnation of woman. She was built of the man's own rib and tincture, and the man was already turned outward when she was built. Marriage is the order God set for fallen man, and I do not despise it. But the beastial members hung upon us for propagation are the sign of what was lost, and the poor soul is ashamed to this day that it must bear a beastial form on the body.2
In the resurrection we shall be such as Adam was before his Eve; Christ says we shall neither marry nor be given in marriage, but be like the angels of God, yet not mere spirits, rather in heavenly bodies.1 As for the second matter: the Virgin is not a fourth person. When the Virgin left Adam she went into her Ether, into the heavenly Principle of the power, and there she waits upon all the children of Adam, to see whether any will receive her again for their Bride by the New Birth.3
She is the Divine Wisdom that dwells in the Limbus before God, and she it was who discovered and created the Image out of the Element by the Fiat.4 Now see how the Wisdom arises. The eternal divine understanding is a free will, arisen from nothing, dwelling alone in itself, and beyond it there is nothing. It beholds itself in its own egress, and what proceeds forth is its eternal Lubet and perception, and that is called the Divine Wisdom.5
She is the mirror in which the One finds its likeness and manifests itself; she is not another will beside it. Therefore I say that we Christians hold God to be threefold, but only one in essence, and to say that God is threefold in person is very wrongly apprehended by the ignorant, yes, by a great part of the learned: for God is no person save only in Christ, but he is the eternal begetting power, and the kingdom with all beings.6
How then should I add a fourth where I allow no sundering of persons at all? She is the beauty of the One, and the soul that imagines into the Heart of God has her for its Paradise.4
Adam was created in the image of God as a masculine virgin, with both tinctures, the fire and the light, in one body, and the noble Virgin of divine Wisdom for his bride.789 He was to bring forth his like out of himself, as he had been made. He imagined into the outward world and its beasts, fell asleep, and woke divided: the woman was built out of him, and the generation of the beasts became the way of human generation.
Wisdom is not a fourth person in God but the mirror in which the Trinity sees its wonders; she withdrew from Adam when he turned outward and offers herself again to the soul that repents. Christ, born of Mary, a true daughter of Adam, brought the lost virgin image back into human nature.10

And though wee shall raise a great storme, and though Antichrist teare away the Woman from us, yet the virgin must continue with us, because wee are married to her, let every one take its own, and then I shall have that which is mine. 2. Now when Adam was thus in the Garden of Eden, and the three Principles having produced such a strife in him; his Tincture was quite wearied, and the virgin departed. The Three Principles of the Divine Essence, with the Appendix on the Threefold Life
God had created Adam in the chast Virgin of his Wisdome: but he became in the presence and stead thereof, an Evil Earthly Opposite Woman, with which he must live in this beastial form in meer care anxiety and necessity. 14. And, out of his fair Garden of pleasure, which he had in him, there came an Opposite Thorny and Thistly, Garden; whence yet he somewhat sought the Virgin-like fruit. 15.The Treatise of the Incarnation, in three parts, with the Tree of Christian Faith
All this we finde pourtrayed in these two Images, viz: in the Eternal Holy, and then also in the Earthly corruptible Virginity: and finde also the New Regeneration in the Image of Christ, very cleare and bright. 8. For, in the Eternal Virginity, viz: in God wisedome, wherein the Image and Similitude of God is seen as in a Looking-Glass from Eternity, and known by the Spirit of God; was Adam the first Man Created. 9.The Treatise of the Incarnation, in three parts, with the Tree of Christian Faith
Now therefore Moses saith, God caused a deep sleep to fall upon him, and he slept; that is, seeing man would not continue in obedience of the divine harmony in the properties, submitting himselfe to stand still as an instrument of the Spirit of God: therefore God suffered him to fall from the Divine Harmony, into an harmony of his own, viz.The Way to Christ: Of True Repentance, Of True Resignation, Of Regeneration, Of the Supersensual Life, The Discourse of Illumination, A Compendium of Repentance
